Taking a page out of Nike’s slogan book, Jordan Brand takes a mid-90’s ethos and splashes retro vibes on a Jordan classic with the Air Jordan 9 ‘Dream It, Do It’. Continuing the Jordan lineage during Michael’s one-year retirement, there was no stopping the Jordan 9 from gracing the hardwood (most notably in Space Jam). Combining this with a fresh take on the Swoosh’s synonymous brand statement “Just Do It”, this vintage colour blocked sneaker is the perfect callback for 90’s loyal.
Reminiscent of styles of Fresh Prince of Bel Air and Spike Lee’s ‘She’s Gotta Have It’ film, this retro makeover combines a mixture of fonts and colours in true heritage fashion. Utilising a premium black leather upper, an appropriately vibrant mix of purple, teal, red and yellow are painted across the mudguard and heel overlays for the perfect 90’s pop. Paying homage to it’s namesake, the ‘Dream It, Do It’ slogan is mounted at the tongue and dressed with a retro font and throwback colours which are dispersed across the shoe. Differentiating the left and right shoes, varying tones on the embroidered 23 heel graphic are complemented with unique heel overlays. Complete with a black midsole and white underfoot, a teal sockliner rounds out the design in perfect fashion.
