FROM JORDAN WITH AIR: AIR JORDAN 6 ‘INFRARED’

Originally released in ’91, arguably the most beloved Jordan 6 in history returns to grace the shelves once again; none other than the Air Jordan VI ‘Infrared’. An icon remembered for being the shoe which helped Michael Jordan to his first-ever NBA Championship, this holds a special place in the hearts and minds of sneakerheads and Jordan faithful alike. With this in mind, Jordan revives the legend with nostalgic elements to stay true to the original, including the revered ‘Nike Air’ heel logo. Last seen in 2000 with Nike Air branding at the heel, the black Infrared was also released as part of the 2010 ‘Infrared Pack’ and again in 2014, however these recent retro’s featured Jumpman heel branding.

A Tinker Hatfield original design, Tinker drew inspiration from Jordan’s love for his German sportscar. Constructed with a premium black nubuck upper, the unmistakable Infrared detailing on the midsole, heel and lace lock bring a nostalgic pop of colour to bring out the greatness of the sneaker. Much to the delight of real Jordan heads, this year’s retro will feature an Infrared which steers away from the pinkish hues of infrareds past, with a much closer red palette to the original. Maintaining an icy translucent outsole, the visible air unit at the heel provides signature cushioning should you look to grace the hardwood with these classics.

Celebrating the festivities of the NBA’s All-Star weekend, this legend launches in Men’s, grade school, pre-school and toddler sizes as part of Jordan’s annual All-Star collection this weekend. What better way to soak up the greatness of everything from the Rookie showcase, 3-point contest, dunk competition and all-star game, than with a fresh-out-the-box pair Infrared 6’s.

Be sure to have your calendar circled for this Saturday the 16th of February to cop yours online or in-store at JD Sports.
