Pharrell’s adidas Originals collaborations seem to be as ageless as the man himself; and his latest collection of adidas Originals x Pharrell Williams HU NMD and Solarhu is no different. Since the craze of the NMD Human Race (nicknamed NMD Hu for short) took the sneaker world by storm in 2016, every new colour-way has been met with pre-eminent sell through. The focal difference between the NMD Hu and other iterations of the NMD was the innovative lacing system. Similar to the CS1, the Hu utilised a sock-like construction, however an integrated cage joined to the midsole allowed the wearer to essentially stitch the shoe together around the unique dimensions of their foot.
The latest collection is built on the foundations of the latest “Now Is Her Time” campaign aimed at female empowerment. Told from the point of view of females from different backgrounds and supporters, their voices are used as a tool to bring attention to issues and perspectives rooted in gender, sexual rights, inequality and race. The pack comprises a collection of apparel and adidas Originals x Pharrell Williams HU NMD and Solarhu colour-ways which embody women’s rights.
