Although Jordan styles laced on court by Michael Jordan himself hold a special place in the hearts of basketball and sneaker fanatics alike, a few modern colour-ways manage to hold their own amongst the pantheon of classics. A grail on that list for many and returning for the first time since it’s original release, is the Air Jordan 5 ‘Raging Bull’. Originally released in 2009 as part of the Toro Bravo Pack, the pack payed homage to Michael’s legendary tenure with the Chicago Bulls.
Originally bundled with the’3M’ Black/Varsity Red take on the Air Jordan V, the Raging Bull colourway is a very welcome retro from Jordan Brand. Featuring University Red tones across the premium suede upper, the sneaker boasts a metallic silver tongue, accented by neutral cage underlays. With contrasting black lace loop panels, midsoles and tongue branding, the icy translucent outsole creeps up the midsole at the heel and forefoot. Stamped with the unmistakable “23” at the heel, the signature Jordan 5 lace-locks camouflage themselves into the shoe with a see-through make-up.
