Air Jordan XI ‘Gamma’ is an early Christmas present for Jordan-heads
When the Air Jordan 11 first debuted in 1995 (designed by Tinker Hatfield), it changed the game. The AJ 11 brought patent leather to a performance basketball shoe, slippery court slickness meets street-ready swagger. That glossy mudguard, carbon fiber plate, full-length Air cushioning gave MJ dominance on the court and style credibility off it.
Fast forward to December 2013, the Air Jordan XI “Gamma Blue” colourway dropped, marking one of the first bold deviations from the OG colourway roster. The combo of black mesh, glossy black patent, with Gamma hits and Varsity Maize detailing gave the Air Jordan XI a stealthy but flashy persona that stood apart. It didn’t scream “OG,” but it built its own fanbase.
Over the years, “Gamma” became a cult classic, one of those non-OG joints that, through word-of-mouth and wear, gained respect and love from both old heads and new heads in the Jordan family.
The upper stays true to the original Gamma palette with sleek black mesh on the panels, that signature glossy patent leather mudguard wrapping the shoe, and Gamma Jumpman accents on tongue and collar. Varsity Maize hits remain on heel tab “23” and tongue/heel branding for that subtle pop.
To land a pair, you’ll need to head to the JD Sports site the morning of Saturday 13th December OR to cop Men’s sizing you will be able to find a limited run in select stores. Stores that will have stock are listed below:
