Converse delivers another iteration of a hardwood legend with two new colour-ways of their Converse ERX 260 Mid. Best known for being laced up by late 80’s basketball legends such as the Championship “Bad Boy” Pistons squad, the ERX 260 brings back the sweet sense of nostalgic sneakers for some retro chunk.
First introduced to the hardwood in 1988, the ERX was famed for embodying the perfect balance of bulky aesthetic with performance tech. Apart from it’s over-the-top bulky aesthetic, Converse’s Energy Wave technology cushioning system was the signature of the shoe and served as the inspiration for the Energy Return Multiplier (ERX) alias. Re-introducing itself into the 21st century landscape, the upcoming release includes an OrthoLite insole for a comfortable fit and a 4-piece moulded foam on the upper. Finished with embossed tongue detailing and performance heel counter for superior lock-down, the game never stops for these not so subtle sneaks.
Arriving in two unique colour-ways inspired by two of the biggest basketball cities, Chicago and Detroit, the hues draw direct inspiration from their NBA hometown franchise colours. No suprises on the Chicago iteration, with Jordan-esque Black and Red (Bred) tones adorning the upper, whilst Detroit calls upon clean white and royal hues for it’s city.
Launching at JD Sports on the 15th of June 2019, the game never stops with the Converse ERX 260 Mid.
