Reining it in on the design front, Nike takes it back to the classics and delivers a new Air Max silhouette with the Nike Air Max 200. Following on from the Nike Air Max 720 and Air Max 270 React, it’s clear that the 200 is built with a lifestyle focus in mind. But don’t be fooled by it’s seemingly simplistic design, it still packs the premium construction and visible Air Bag comfort that has solidified the Air Max franchise on the Mount Rushmore of sneaker folklore.
With a few design cues and nods to current classics of the Air Max lineage, the Air Max 200 has all the hallmarks to make it a new favourite in sneaker rotations. Boasting a mesh base with layered suede panelling, the slightly chunky tongue design is a familiar feature seen on other Nike silhouettes such as the Air Monarch and Nike M2K Tekno. We see the signature swoosh grace the sneaker at the lateral and medial, as well as the toe box, while a specially designed “AIR 200” logo takes centre stage at the tongue. Sat atop a sleek midsole and visible Air unit, the midsole bears a striking resemblance to the Nike Air Max 180 both in shape and visible air aesthetic.
Making it’s debut in a number of colour-ways for both men and women, look for the newest addition to the Air Max family to launch at JD Sports on Friday the 19th of July.
