Born In Boston
Starting with a humble beginning back in 1906, the brand as we know it today was the ‘New Balance Arch Support Company’. Producing arch supports for athletes, this kind of attention to detail and a passion for comfort is what makes New Balance so popular still today.
These roots shine through in the 1906 silhouette, with a retro runner-inspired style that takes cues from the early aughts.
With a sporty engineering that can power you through a run, or just look fresh when you link with your mates, the 1906 has an ACTEVA LITE midsole with pillowy soft cushioning, while the grippy N-ergy outsole absorbs impact as you hit the ground.
Landing in two men’s and two women’s colourways, the JD-exclusive drop features neutral tones, ready for the Summer season to pair up with your fave threads.
In men’s sizes, lace up in a White/Raincloud/Grey Matter colourway, or choose Slate Grey/Brighton Grey/Castlerock to bring New Balance’s iconic ‘Grey Day’ energy to your look.
For the gals, we’re keeping the tonal trend flowin’, with two new hues – Rain Cloud/Sea Salt/Summer Fog and Timberwolf/Sea Salt.
For a sporty style, these sneaks look fire with woven shorts and leggings with that laidback athleisure vibe. Or lace up in a street-ready look when you match ‘em with cool cargos and a classic tee.
Linking With Legends
In line with the launch of the latest 1906 colourways, New Balance has connected with a trio of global artists, calling on soccer player Timothy Weah to pull the group together.
With a passion for songwriting and all things music and culture, Timothy has curated a squad of creatives to celebrate New Balance’s signature cross-section of sport and style with the 1906.
Joining Timothy is award-winning UK rapper Loyle Carner, who gained traction after releasing three acclaimed albums.
Hailing from Washington D.C. is Redveil, a 19-year-old rising star who took a detour from his calendar of sold-out shows to head to Boston and rep the 1906.
Making up the third of the trio is Syndney’s A.Girl, who brings her Māori roots into her RnB music, making a stamp on the scene and shining a spotlight on her heritage.
These three artists came together in Boston, the place where it all began for New Balance. Taking to the city’s streets, the crew laced up in the 1906 sneakers to show ya how it’s done.
