2020 not only marks a new decade, but the 30th anniversary of the iconic Nike Air Max 90. The sneaker originally known as the Air Max III, boasted a bigger Air unit than its predecessors, as well as improvements to flexibility and a multi-port lacing system to provide a variety of fit options. To celebrate the milestone of one of Nike’s most beloved silhouettes, the sneaker has been re-crafted with true-to-the-original details and shape and arrives in three OG-colourways including the “Hyper Turquoise”, “Hyper Grape” and “Volt”.
With OG updates made to the panel scale, toe box height and heel panel, the retro-fitted shape maintains its boisterous aesthetic with OG colour schemes. All three styles offer the nostalgic mix of white mesh, soft grey suedes and black leather wrap. Maintaining its signature large Air Max tooling encapsulated in EVA foam, the rubberised heel badge, midsole piece and eyestays serve as the canvas for the distinctive colour pops. Completed with a white midsole and hidden Air Max 1 black outsole, each pair includes a rubber Nike hangtag and foam arch supports that can be added for greater comfort and stability.
Paying homage to a tremendously important piece of Air Max history and subculture staple, the Air Max 90 OG “Hyper Turquoise”, “Hyper Grape” and “Volt” arrive at JD Sports on the 9th of January 2020.
