Transforming trash into trainers, the Crater Impact is built with at least 25% recycled materials by weight – and is made using more efficient processes too!

Protecting the future of sport means doing our part to protect the planet! Nike is taking climate action through Move to Zero; their journey towards a zero carbon, zero waste future.
They’ve made some big changes over the past few years and have created trainers and ‘fits through the lens of sustainability. From the all-new Crater Impact to the Air VaporMax 2020, Nike is switching up their processes and using recycled materials to be kinder to the planet.
Introducing Crater Impact
Made up of at least 25% recycled materials by weight, the Nike Crater Impact combines style with sustainability. It uses trash discretely so you’d never know it was made using waste from just looking at it!
Launching in a range of colourways for both men and women, the Crater Impact has a breathable mesh upper with a track-inspired look. It has straight edged overlays, which mean less waste, as well as an embroidered Swoosh logo and a padded, low-cut collar for comfort.
Underfoot, they’re sat on a Crater foam midsole, which uses waste from the cutting room floor. Cool right? Dubbed ‘Impact’ for a reason, the Crater Impact is made to leave an impression. The midsole is inspired by rock that could form a crater, but is made from speckled, ultra-light foam for a soft, cushioned ride.
