Jordan Brand elevates it’s Paris Saint-Germain partnership with another footwear collaboration in the form of the Air Jordan 1 x PSG. Following on from the coveted Air Jordan 5 x PSG release, the cross-collaboration of sporting giants is releasing an Air Jordan 1 OG dressed in simplistic perfection. Worthy of one of Jordan Brand’s marquee partnerships, this sneaker is one for the history books.
Taking a deeper dive into the football world, Jordan Brand pushes the Air Jordan 1 OG into unchartered territory. Moving away from the classic leather we’re accustomed to seeing on this silhouette, the collaboration recruits a nylon neoprene upper, typically seen in the construction of football kits. With a woven leather Air Jordan badge at the collar, this special edition release toes the line of basketball heritage and football fever.
With the likes of Mbappe and Neymar Jr. adorning the colours of Paris’ most renowned football squads, Jordan doesn’t miss a beat in dressing the AJ1 to look the part. With a minimalistic approach, the shoe dons a black upper and sole, offset with a classic white midsole. With a nod to PSG’s alternate kit, red and white detailing makes an appearance on both the white midsole and Nike tag on the tongue. Finished with signature PSG detailing, PSG’s team logo is featured on the back of the tongue label, whilst the insole reads “ici c’est Paris,” translating to “here is Paris.”
Landing at JD Sports on Tuesday the 6th of November, there looks to be no slowing in sight for two of the globe’s most recognisable franchises.
