Will it be the blue half of Manchester for the fifth consecutive year? Pep Guardiola and his team already made history when they became the first club to win four in a row. Can they add number five? They will once again be the favourites for the crown.
Or will Pep’s protégé Mikel Arteta finally get his Arsenal side over the line at the third time of asking. Agonisingly close on two occasions now, Gooners up and down the country will be praying that this is their time.
Liverpool will be backed to have a strong season, but with Jürgen Klopp no longer in charge and a new face in the dugout, nothing can be certain. Arne Slot may well hit the ground running, but it could also be a tricky season of transition for the Reds. Let’s see.
Aston Villa will be stepping out at Villa Park in the Champions League this season. Fourth place last year secured them a seat at the table with Europe’s elite.
Can they continue that success into this season? Or will their new European commitments hamper their league campaign?
Hoping to go better than they did last season are the likes of Manchester United, Tottenham, Newcastle and Chelsea. All missed out on those coveted top four places and all four have been active in the transfer market with the hopes of turning their fortunes around.
In terms of managerial changes, Julen Lopetegui has replaced David Moyes as West Ham boss, while Brighton have taken a huge gamble on Fabian Hürzeler to replace Roberto De Zerbi. At just 31 years-old, he’ll be the youngest permanent manager in Premier League history.
Catching the eye after successfully guiding St. Pauli to Bundesliga promotion, this move will be one to keep an eye on.
Some familiar faces will also be back. Southampton and Leicester both secured promotions back to the top flight after one season in the Championship.
Ipswich also joined them in promotion, returning to the Premier League for the first time since 2002. Playing an attractive style of football under Kieran McKenna, they’ll be ones to watch.
